'FANTÔME'
by Helen Vitoria

six months of: I want, I want, I want
& you are poaching for albino deer
near a white bicycle leaning at the garden gate
there is one tire spinning & I mistaken you as, gone
I tell you the legend of the ghost deer
neither is being considered: the pursuit or the intent to kill
what can be disputed is your domestication,
a vernacular of metaphor, a far gone animal husbandry
with your aristocracy practice & hunting skills,
you look almost honorable in the barren field
