Wonderland or Rust
—a poem by Kelley White

Eyes of a child
Wild, curious landscape
Wandering, garden pages
Bloodstained fields
Rust’s horrific wonder

Lust’s flower promise
Ignored, Love’s splendor
Vanity’s blooms adored
Fruit of surgical gain
Limited, Kindness deplores
Violence adorned~

Kelley White has won first place in Hennen's Observer's Open Poetry Contest for Serious and Emerging Writers, has had pieces published in Rebelle Society, Hennen's Observer Online, and currently has an essay pending publication with International Times. Her book, High Tea with Alice, is awaiting publication.

This poem, "Wonderland or Rust" is a piece for her second book, now in progress, Alice in Apocolypto.
